It looks like Ubisoft is finally giving up on their desperate attempts to maintain a positive image in the eyes of consumers. After yet another director leaves the project that everyone stopped believing in years ago, the company has decided to just say "F**k it." They’ve announced the next director of Beyond Good & Evil—and in addition, five more directors who will step in as soon as the first one inevitably leaves.

“We’re taking the football approach on this one,” Ubisoft spokesperson Kwandle McRay told media outlets on Thursday morning. “The NFL has backups for when someone gets injured. They bring in the second- or third-string player to replace them because there’s such a high chance they’ll get injured and have to leave. This is the same thing. We know nobody wants to work on this, and we’re pretty sure that whoever we put in charge won’t last long. Is it because the game sucks? Probably. But that’s the next six directors’ problem, not mine.”

Confident in their strategy, Ubisoft is considering adding multiple replacements for many other roles within the company, such as communications and financial managers. “Our higher-ups are getting burned out from explaining why we make so little money and can’t seem to release a decent product. This way, they can step aside and let someone else take the heat instead,” McRay added.

McRay closed his remarks by acknowledging that the seven fans who still believe the game will ever be released shouldn’t lose hope. “...If Ubisoft hasn’t been bought by Microsoft by then, it would be an honor to deliver IGN’s most 7/10 game for those fans,” he said.
