Ubisoft doesn’t seem to know what it's doing lately. They’re like a lost puppy looking for guidance—except this puppy employs thousands of people, and what it does actually isn’t a joke, considering people's livelihoods depend on it. If that's the case, then why does it keep making the absolute worst decisions possible?

In a move that would make James Cameron proud, Ubisoft decided to announce six new Avatar games all at once, all produced by them. Launching this many games in a franchise is almost unheard of—especially when the first one was about as much fun as having a bath with your dad. The announcement came just before the earnings report for their first Avatar game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora came in, which sold a whopping 426 copies. Yes, 426. Ubisoft claimed they would personally call each person who bought the game to thank them for their support in a move that could only be described as... desperate.

On the Avatar subreddit, the highest-rated post is from user “airbender44,” who simply asked, “Anyone else buy this game by mistake because they thought it was for Avatar: The Last Airbender? XD” The post has since garnered 378 upvotes and counting.

In response to the backlash, Ubisoft quickly launched a “refer a friend” program, which promised an unannounced “NSFW blue Titties” DLC for anyone who could convince a friend to buy the game. While intriguing, a move like this is definitely too late.

Finally, Ubisoft’s PR manager, Timothy Grant, proudly declared at the end of the investors meeting that each of these new Avatar games is expected “to sell less than the last!” He has since been removed from his position under allegations of drinking on the job and telling consumers the truth.
